Chefchaouen Travel Guide
Chefchaouen also known as Chaouen is a small white town located in northwest of Morocco. Chaouen is a lovely blue and whitewashed town in the Rif, the town was founded in 1471 by Moulay Ali Ben Rachid. In 1920 Chefchaouen became a Spanish protectorate; Chaouen regained its independence in 1956.

Place Uta el-Hammam.
The kasbah Outa el-Hammam and Ethnographic museum: the museum exhibits wooden work, pottery, arms and musical instruments and a gallery.
Al-Makhzen Market.
The Mountains hiking: discover the beauty of the Rif Mountains especially Jebel al-Kalaa.
The medina: explore the narrow streets, the freshly painted white and blue walls of old medina. Also don’t miss the Souika which is considered the oldest district in town.

Getting around Chaouen:
Chefchaouen is a small town, but you can use the services of a small taxi especially if you do not have a local tour guide.
