 El Jadida Minimize

El Jadida was previously known as Mazagan, it has a population of 145 000. El Jadida is located 56 miles from southwest of Casablanca. Mazagan was one of the first settlements of Portuguese explorers.

Must See:

  • Portuguese Cistern : built by the Portuguese in 1514, and it was used as an arsenal and an armory.
  • Mazagan: the old Portuguese town, Mazagan is a UNISCO world heritage site
  • El Jadida Norhtern beach known of its golden sand.
  • El Jadida festival ( from 18th to 25th of July) : The festival offers various religious activities, music, fantasia, and falconry. The festival official name is Moussem Moulay Abdellah Amghar.

1 hour from Casablanca by Train; buses are available from Casablanca
