Tipping “Tips” in Morocco

Food Service:

Restaurants, bars, clubs and coffee staff expect tips from tourists and Moroccans. Assuming satisfactory service, this is usually 2-5 Moroccan dirham for small checks, and around 15% for larger checks. Most hospitality staff are not paid very well, so they rely heavily on tips for their income.

Hotel Employees:

It is customary to tip porters, customer service assistants and service room staff. 5-10 dirham is an appropriate tip.

Taxi Drivers:

No tipping is required for cab drivers of small taxis or big taxis.
It should be noted that panhandling is illegal in most touristy areas of Morocco, but if you feel urge to help (a) use you judgment wisely
(b) donate local currency Moroccan dirham.
